All the materials needed to build and finish the bike, the use of tools and directions by Bamboocycles’ founder ID Diego Cárdenas.
Of course! We encourage participants to bring a friend, mother, cousin, grandpa, uncle, girlfriend. Share the experience and divide the work. The more the merrier.
(only one helper per frame)
Fraiday 4 – 8pm
Saturday 10am – 8pm
Sunday 10am – 6pm
We start off on Friday at 4pm, we begin with and ice breaker chat then we align the frame, by 8pm we should finish.
On Saturday we place the carbon fiber joinery. At 2pm we take a break and walk somewhere to get some lunch (not included), and when we return we finish putting all the carbon fiber. We should finish at 7pm.
Finally on Sunday, we sand and polish the body, apply oil and its ready. We end the workshop with a group picture.
It is MANDATORY that each participant brings with the fork and the rear wheel that will be used to assemble the bike.
THE FORK
For City, Cruise and Road frames a size 700 OVER (1 1/8), threadless
For Mountain bikes a size 29er OVER(1 1/8), threadless.
THE REAR WHEEL
For City, Cruiser and Road frames bring a 700 rear wheel. For tires you can use between 700×23 – 28 (bigger than this might find troubles fitting with the fork). Bring the the wheel ready (hub, rim, tube, tire assembled). The hub axis can be “quick release” of “solid”.
For Mountain frames, the wheel must be a 29er x 2.10.
TEH JIG WONT ACCEPT OTHER WHEEL SIZES.
Bring comfortable workshop clothes that you dont mind stainning, we use industrial glue.
Comfortable shoes, no sandals allowed. Paintor’s overalls are optional but recommended.
For Sunday bring gardening gloves. You can get them in the hardware store.

Bamboo is one of the strongest natural materials in nature.
Bamboo can withstand up to 1ton/cm2 of compression force, this is twice the tolerance of steel.Bamboo is also lighter making it ideal for bicycle construction. Other incredible quality is that it absorbs as much as x4 more vibrations than carbon fiber, making our bikes, the smoothest bicycle (ideal for long rides).Neither bamboo nor carbon fiber are subject to fatigue. Your bike can endure daily use and falls without losing its strength. It takes up to 15 years for a regular pine tree to grow, it takes bamboo as little as 3 years to reach the same level, making it a very renewable source.Naturally bamboo generates 30% more oxygen than trees, this helps break down Co2 generated by cars. It takes up to 15 years for a regular pine tree to grow, it takes bamboo as little as 3 years to reach the same level, making it a very renewable source.
50k unidirectional Carbon Fiber
+ epoxy resin, our bikes are all hand made and hand finished to perfection. This incredible material makes all the joints extremely strong yet light. Using unidirectional fibers let us design the frame’s structure, making it stronger where it needs to be.
